Data · AI · Finance — Hong Kong

Hi, I'm Matthew.

I'm Head of Data at a Hong Kong fintech, and spend the rest of my time building AI experiments and writing about what I learn — mostly where AI meets finance and ESG.

About

From the client's side of the table to building AI

I started my career in wealth management, helping clients plan their money. I enjoyed the analysis more than anything else — so I earned my FRM, and on the side co-founded a small centre teaching students science and maths.

Then I left finance to study artificial intelligence in London, graduating with Distinction in 2020. Today I'm Head of Data at a Hong Kong fintech, where finance, ESG and AI meet every day.

This site is where I share what I'm building, reading and thinking about. Outside work, you'll usually find me travelling, on a badminton court, or out with a camera.

Let's work on something together.

I'm always glad to talk about speaking at an event, testing an AI idea, guest writing or podcasts, or moving into data from another career.
